Didier Recloux

Biography

Didier is a Belgian-born composer based in London whose love of music began in childhood, nurtured by a musical family and early studies in guitar, piano, drums, singing, and composition. His training later expanded to orchestration in New York, film music with Berklee Online, and music production in London, and he continues to refine his craft as a lifelong student of music.

Influenced by a wide spectrum of styles—from progressive rock and electronic music to classical and film composers such as Maurice Jarre and Ennio Morricone—Didier has developed a distinctive voice rooted in melody. He describes his music as “portable,” something audiences can carry with them long after the moment has passed.

His work spans albums, film, and television. Most recently, his album Monsieur Linh and His Child (2024), inspired by Philippe Claudel’s novel, was praised as “outstanding” by Music Review World. He is also known for his collaborations with broadcaster Zeinab Badawi, composing for The Lost Child (BBC World, 2014), the landmark series The History of Africa (over 14 million views online), and Take Me to the Opera (2021–2024).

Through his music, Didier seeks to illuminate stories and move audiences, guided by a quiet sense of purpose and the belief that music is a gift capable of bringing people together and pointing to something greater than ourselves.
